One great idea begets another.

Rickshaw and Halo trip the light fantastic! One great idea begets another. As you may or may not know, Rickshaw is collaborating with another San Francisco-based start-up on a cool Kickstarter project called the Halo Zero LED Messenger Bag. The project is now live on Kickstarter, and funding is progressing nicely. The purpose of this post is twofold: (1) to encourage you and your friends to back our project, and (2) to tell you the story of how this project came to be, and why this may be the most exciting time in history to be an entrepreneur.

Join us for our Cyclofemme Ride

We're partnering with Girl Bike Love to present the SF edition of CycloFemme: a ride to encourage women in cycling. We met Girl Bike Love at the North American Handmade Bike Show in Sacramento a few weeks back when we noticed this sweet ride by Sarai Snyder. http://girlbikelove.com/2012/03/built-to-fit-mosaic-gbl-cx-goes-to-nahbs/.
After speaking with her, Christy discovered her campaign to get more women on bikes: CycloFemme. We're hosting the SF-edition of the CycloFemme ride that will coincide with ride worldwide. Here's a list of the rides: http://cyclofemme.com/ride-list-2/ Don't let the name fool you- all are encouraged to ride: women, men, mothers, brothers, fathers, sisters and friends.

Our new backpack is coming and YOU can test it out!

For months now we've been working on a made in America, soft form, customizable backpack to serve our urban commuting needs. We've been through 15 iterations, countless design meetings and several days of pulling strangers off the street to ask "Hey! Try this on, what do you think?"
We're pleased to announce we'll be debuting our final prototype this weekend at the NAHBS where you can get a sneak peek, try it on, and take it for a spin around the show. We'll be taking sign-ups for testers at the show and excited to let 10 lucky people test and review our backpack before it hits the streets.
Want to be a tester? Tell us why you'd be a great fit to test our new urban Backpack. Do you bike every day? Need to haul a lot on your commute? We'll take pictures, videos or essays or any other type of wooing over on our Facebook wall. We'll select 5 people on March 15th to test our new backpack for 30 days then come back and give us a comprehensive review. Your feedback will directly affect the finished design.
